German companies to introduce digital medical records' solutions at conhIT
Digital medical records are expected to top the agenda at Europe's leading trade show for healthcare information technology – Connecting Healthcare IT, conhIT in Berlin in April. The Bremen-based company, Allgeier IT Solutions GmbH and its subsidiary Allgeier Medical IT GmbH are presenting their latest systems at the event.
Earlier this year, the parties to Germany's new, governing coalition agreed plans to issue 70 million members of statutory health insurance companies with digital medical records in the next four years. At conhIT, Allgeier Medical IT is introducing a range of IT solutions that will help to meet this enormous challenge. The policy will require software development and cooperation on the part of Germany's insurers and specialist IT firms.
Among the products Allgeier Medical will be demonstrating are the image and data management system Allgeier.PACS, a multi-media document management and archiving system – Allgeier.mDMAS and the integrated Enterprise Content Management System Allgeier.mECM. What is more, Allgeier IT Solutions GmbH's metasonic® suite is a system for streamlining the daily routines of clinical healthcare facilities.
Allgeier Medical's Managing Director, Wolfgang Schmezer says, "As a software maker, we are facing the current challenge of developing what are known as connectors, which will ensure the smooth exchange of data while meeting security and other legal requirements."
