This latest edition of the guide gives users up-to-date insight into a key part of Germany's medical biotechnology industry – one of the world's largest. A highly diversified contract research landscape set within Europe's largest pharmaceuticals market makes German medical biotechnology unique in the world. The sector is composed mainly of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). Together, they provide a full range of drug development services and value creation services.

The updated, 78-page guide is dedicated to helping interested users find the services they need within Germany's varied contract research environment. More than 120 companies are presented in the directory. Readers can scan tabular and graphic information to get a quick overview of a firm's areas of expertise. At the same time, short "biographies" of the companies also provide additional, key details.

Since the first edition was published in 2012, the guide has been available free of charge from Health – Made in Germany at trade fairs, its offices in Berlin and events held abroad – such as at the BIO International Convention, for example.

The Guide to Contract Research is published in cooperation with Germany Trade and Invest (GTAI) the economic development agency of the Federal Republic of Germany. GTAI is implementing the initiative on behalf of Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.
